In 1975, a young bloke with a vision — Simon Hrycyszyn (Richardson) — bought a block of land at 468 Bass Highway (now Westbury Road) after getting too busy fixing bikes in his dad’s garage. What started in a shed built by Simon, his dad, and a few mates quickly grew into something legendary.

Just three years later, Simon became the official Harley-Davidson® Dealer for Tasmania, and the rest is history.

Today, 50 years on, Richardson’s Harley-Davidson®, House of Motorcycles, and the Iron Horse Bar & Grill proudly stand on that same site — a true Tasmanian motorcycle destination built from passion, hard work, and family spirit.

From recycled wharf pylons and old bank counters to a one-of-a-kind museum filled with Harley-Davidson® history — every nail, beam, and bolt tells part of Simon’s story.
